Underwriters Laboratory (UL) has accredited Opterna's manufacturing facility, SFO Technologies, TL 9000-H, R4.0 after assessing its quality system.

With this, the manufacturing facility becomes the first in India to get accredited TL9000 in the field of fiber optic passive manufacturing.

TL 9000 certification is an international telecommunication standard that defines the quality management system requirements for design, development, production, delivery, installation and maintenance of telecommunication products and services. Telecom audits based on these requirements include a minimum set of performance metrics and indicators to measure progress and evaluate results of your quality system implementation. TL9000 gives serious consideration to product quality, cycle time, cost, continuous improvement and organisational excellence. The telecommunications industry is at the forefront of these requirements; this industry is characterised as being extremely competitive, with very short product lifecycles and very high safety and quality expectations from customers.
