Opterna introduces armored patchcords to its optical connectivity products portfolio. Opterna armored patchcords are specifically designed for last mile fiber routing applications.

The special cable used for this patchcord protects the fiber against high crushing forces and also facilitates bending it around sharp corners without having significant loss. Thus, the installer is still within the limits of the link loss budget enabling him to route his cable the way he wants it.

Opterna armored patchcords are offered in almost all connector types and in Multimode and Singlemode versions. It exhibits its low bending characteristics when used in conjunction with G657 fiber.

Opterna’s armored patchcords are also available in single and two fiber single or double armored cable. The double armored version enhances protection to the fiber with a steel wire mesh protection between the Kevlar and the outer sheath.
